Information disclosure via unauthenticated HNAP aggregation
Published Jul 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Missing authentication in Motorola CX2 router CX 1.0.2 Build 20190508 Rel.97360n allows remote attackers to read configuration data. The HNAP1/GetMultipleHNAPs handler accepts an unauthenticated JSON request naming GetStationSettings, GetWebsiteFilterSettings, and GetNetworkSettings, then returns each result without an authorization check. Network reachability of the HNAP interface is sufficient; exposed data includes client identifiers, parental-control rules, and LAN settings, with no reported write access.
