Browser script execution via stored web_attr_2 markup
Published Aug 10, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the web_attr_2 field in EyouCMS 1.4.1 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a visitor's browser. The backend persists web_attr_2 without neutralizing markup, and templates render the stored value through the corresponding global tag. An authenticated account must first store the payload, and a visitor must load a page that outputs the field; the script then runs in that visitor's site context.
