Authenticated arbitrary file deletion via unfiltered backup path
Published Jul 6, 2023 · Updated Nov 21, 2024
Path traversal in DuxCMS 2.1 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary server files through the backup deletion endpoint. DatabaseModel.php passes the unfiltered data parameter, including parent-directory sequences, to the delDir() function in Util.php. Access to the administrative backup function is required, and successful exploitation removes application data or other files writable by the web process.
