CVE-2020-2186Network attack vector

Instance provisioning via missing POST checks

Published May 6, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Cross-site request forgery in Jenkins Amazon EC2 Plugin 1.50.1 and earlier allows remote attackers to provision instances via crafted requests. Several plugin HTTP endpoints accept requests without requiring POST, so a malicious site can cause a logged-in Jenkins browser to invoke instance-provisioning actions. The attack requires user interaction with attacker-controlled content and establishes service-impacting cloud resource creation, with no direct data read or code execution stated.
