Application crash via unchecked bit-buffer access
Published May 17, 2021 · Updated Jul 9, 2026
Heap-based buffer overflow in GNU LibreDWG 0.10 allows attackers to crash an application by supplying a crafted DWG file. The bit_read_B function fails to reject a Bit_Chain cursor at or beyond the supplied buffer before dereferencing dat->chain[dat->byte]. Triggering the fault requires a user or application to parse attacker-supplied DWG content; the public proof of concept demonstrates a crash, not code execution.
