Secret extraction and SSRF via external entities
Published Apr 7, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in Jenkins Code Coverage API Plugin 1.1.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract controller secrets or trigger SSRF. The Publish Coverage Report step parses attacker-controlled XML without disabling external entity resolution, so entity references can read controller files or issue server-side requests. The attacker must control a coverage input file processed by the configured post-build step; impact is limited to readable secrets and controller-reachable resources.
