Stored credential disclosure via plaintext configuration
Published Mar 25, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Insufficient credential protection in Jenkins Artifactory Plugin 3.5.0 and earlier allows local users to read the stored Artifactory password. The plugin writes the password in plaintext to org.jfrog.hudson.ArtifactoryBuilder.xml in the Jenkins controller's global configuration. Access to the controller filesystem and a configured Artifactory server password are required, and disclosure is limited to that stored credential.
