Credential disclosure via plaintext job configuration forms
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cleartext credential exposure in Jenkins Backlog Plugin 2.4 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read configured secrets. The job configuration form serializes credentials from encrypted config.xml storage into its response as plaintext rather than a protected secret value. Extended Read permission on a configured job is required, and exposure is limited to credentials returned in that form.
