Stored script execution via unfiltered nickname rendering
Published Oct 4, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Maccms 10's Member editing function allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts via a crafted nickname. The save path in /application/admin/controller/User.php accepts nickname POST data without filtering, and /application/admin/view/user/info.html returns it without output filtering. A saved payload executes in the Maccms origin when the administrator edits the user again or when the affected user logs in, so exploitation requires an account and browser rendering.
