Administrator-session script execution via unescaped validation error
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Jenkins Audit Trail Plugin 3.2 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser. The URL Patterns field validator inserts its error message into the configuration response without escaping attacker-controlled pattern text. Exploitation requires an administrator to render the crafted validation response; administrators can also persist the payload through the field.
