Secret extraction via external entity resolution
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
XXE in Jenkins Project Cobertura Plugin 1.15 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to extract controller secrets via crafted reports. The Publish Cobertura Coverage Report post-build step passes attacker-controlled XML to a parser that resolves external entities. Control of a coverage input file is required; successful exploitation reads controller secrets or makes server-side requests from the controller.
