Administrator session takeover via unescaped search input
Published Aug 11, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Reflected XSS in Maccms10 10.0 allows attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser through back-office link search. The link search places the wd query value into HTML without neutralizing an SVG onload event, causing the browser to execute the supplied script. An administrator must be signed in and open the crafted URL; execution in the site origin exposes session cookies and enables account takeover.
