Stored XSS via unescaped repository validation error
Published Mar 9, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Git Plugin 4.2.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script in another user's browser. The Microsoft TFS repository URL form validator persists an error message without escaping attacker-controlled URL content before rendering it. Job/Configure permission is required, and execution occurs when another user views the persisted validation error.
