Unauthenticated account takeover via unchecked password reset
Published May 13, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Broken access control in ZZCMS 201910 allows remote attackers to reset any user password through the public recovery endpoint. /one/getpassword.php accepts action=3 with attacker-supplied password and confirmation fields and writes the new password without authentication. A registered username, obtainable through registration interface queries, is sufficient to take over that account after the database reflects the change.
