CVE-2020-2131Network attack vector

SCM password disclosure via plaintext job configuration

Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Insufficient credential protection in Jenkins Harvest SCM Plugin 0.5.1 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to read SCM passwords. The plugin writes SCM passwords as plaintext into each affected job's config.xml file on the Jenkins controller instead of encrypting the stored value. Job/ExtendedRead permission exposes the credential remotely, while controller file-system access exposes the same secret locally; no integrity or availability impact is reported.
