Account impersonation via CSRF-delivered stored XSS
Published Dec 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in DamiCMS 6.0 allows remote attackers to steal an administrator's session cookie and impersonate the account. The Article/doedit endpoint accepts a cross-origin POST that writes an HTML image element with an onerror handler into an article title, allowing stored script to read document.cookie. Exploitation requires a logged-in administrator to open and submit the crafted page; the injected script then exposes that administrator's session to account takeover.
