Administrator account takeover via forged update request
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
CSRF in MetInfo 7.0.0 allows remote attackers to change an administrator account through a forged doSaveInfo request. The administrator update handler accepts a cross-origin multipart POST containing a new username and password without a request-verification token. A logged-in administrator must visit attacker-controlled content, after which the submitted credentials replace the targeted account details.
