Stored XSS via unescaped repository validation error
Published Feb 12, 2020 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Jenkins Subversion Plugin 2.13.0 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to execute script through a crafted base URL. The SubversionSCMSource validator passes printable exception text to errorWithMarkup without XML escaping, preserving attacker-controlled markup. Exploitation requires permission to configure a Multibranch Pipeline and a victim to view the stored validation error, enabling browser-context data access or actions.
