Authenticated folder deletion via unsanitized path
Published May 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in FusionPBX 4.5.7 allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary system folders through a crafted request. The app/edit/folderdelete.php endpoint passes the unsanitized folder URL parameter directly to rmdir without restricting the resolved path. An authenticated web session is required, and successful exploitation deletes attacker-selected folders, causing data loss or service interruption.
