Unauthenticated SQL execution via password-reset email
Published Oct 1, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Sourcecodester Hotel and Lodge Management System 2.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL via the email parameter. The forgot_password.php handler accepts SQL quote and comment syntax in the submitted email value, as demonstrated by an injected database sleep. The password-recovery request requires no authentication or user interaction; arbitrary SQL execution permits backend data access, modification, deletion, and delayed database operations.
