Administrator account creation via forged cross-origin request
Published Jun 1, 2022 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in PbootCMS 2.0.3 allows remote attackers to add an administrator account through a crafted request. The User/add route accepts attacker-chosen username, password, enabled-status, and R101 administrator-role fields submitted by an external form. Exploitation requires an administrator to remain signed in and open attacker-controlled content, after which the new account can access the management interface.
