CVE-2020-20969Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Authenticated code execution via trash filename reconstruction

Published Jun 20, 2023 · Updated Apr 16, 2025

Unrestricted file upload in Pluck CMS 4.7.10 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary code through trashcan_restoreitem.php. During trash restoration, trashcan_restoreitem.php splits shell.php.txt at the first two dots and rebuilds a name such as shell_copy.php, turning an allowed double-extension upload into executable PHP. Administrator access, a valid session, a staged file in the trash, and a web server that executes PHP from the files directory are required for host-level code execution.
