Stored script execution via unneutralized article fields
Published Sep 29, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in UCMS 1.4.7 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser through article fields. The /ucms/index.php?do=list_edit handler stores crafted title, key words, description, and content values that are later rendered without neutralizing embedded HTML event handlers. Low-privileged access is required to save the payload, and another user must view the affected article; script execution is confined to that viewer's browser context.
