CVE-2020-20746Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Code execution via unsafe list parameter parsing

Published Sep 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Stack buffer overflow in the httpd server in Tenda AC9 15.03.06.60_EN allows remote authenticated users to execute code or crash the router. The fromSetRouteStatic function passes the unbounded, attacker-controlled list POST parameter directly to sscanf for parsing into a stack buffer. Administrative access to the web interface is required, and successful exploitation can overwrite stack memory to run code or interrupt routing service.
