Stored XSS via unsanitized site address
Published Jun 20, 2023 · Updated Dec 10, 2024
Stored XSS in NodCMS 3.0 allows remote authenticated users to run JavaScript in visitors' browsers through a crafted address value. The backend site-settings form stores the Address textarea value without neutralizing script content, and the frontend renders that stored value so the browser executes it. Administrator privileges are required to store the payload, and a visitor must load the affected frontend; execution can expose browser-accessible data or perform actions in the visitor's session.
