Browser script execution via unencoded post tags
Published Sep 27, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in GilaCMS 1.11.4 allows remote authenticated users to execute scripts in another user's browser through a post's Tags field. The /admin/content/post workflow stores crafted Tags content without output encoding and renders it when the public post is accessed. Exploitation requires post-authoring access and a victim to view the published post, exposing the victim's browser session to attacker-controlled script behavior.
