Browser script execution via unsanitized administrator username
Published Aug 11, 2023 · Updated Oct 9, 2024
Cross-site scripting in Gila CMS 1.11.3 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser via adm_user. The installer stores POST adm_user verbatim as the administrator username, and the admin panel later renders the stored value as active markup. Exploitation requires access to the installation form and a later admin-panel visit; the script can read or alter data exposed to that browser session.
