Authenticated account takeover via unchecked user ID
Published Jun 21, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Incorrect authorization in White Shark System 1.3.2 allows remote authenticated users to change any user's password through a crafted request. user_edit_password.php trusts the POST ID field to select the account and writes a replacement password without checking the old password or matching the target to the session. Any logged-in account can reset an administrator password and take over that account.
