Arbitrary file read via path traversal
Published Jun 16, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in Jact OpenClinic 0.8.20160412 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through a crafted GET request. The /shared/view_source.php endpoint accepts traversal sequences in the file parameter and passes the selected path to its source-viewing operation without confinement. Exploitation requires an administrator session and discloses files readable by the web server; arbitrary code execution is not demonstrated.
