Authenticated service crash via crafted detnet packet
Published Jul 14, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Memory corruption in MikroTik RouterOS 6.44.6 through 6.48.3 allows remote authenticated users to crash the detnet process. The /nova/bin/detnet process dereferences a NULL pointer while handling a crafted packet, producing a SIGSEGV and terminating the process. Reachability requires valid RouterOS credentials; the demonstrated consequence is interruption of the detnet service, with no reported data disclosure or modification.
