Database data inference via bypassable title filtering
Published Sep 28, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Wuzhi CMS 4.1 allows remote attackers to infer database data through crafted title values in checktitle(). The function passes the attacker-controlled title through remove_xss(), whose character filtering leaves conditional SQL expressions executable. The published proof of concept uses response delays from a conditional SLEEP expression to infer the MySQL account name without authentication or user interaction.
