Arbitrary file read via XML external entities
Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
XXE in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS for Panorama allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files through the management interface. The service parses attacker-controlled XML while external-entity resolution is enabled, allowing a declared file entity to dereference local paths. Network access to the Panorama management interface is the only reported gate; successful exploitation exposes file contents without changing data or interrupting service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
