Administrator-to-root command execution via management injection
Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Sep 16, 2024
OS command injection in Palo Alto Networks PAN-OS allows remote authenticated users with administrator access to execute commands as root. The management interface passes attacker-controlled input to an operating-system command without adequate neutralization; the affected handler and parameter are undisclosed. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator and affects all 7.1 and 8.0 releases, 8.1 before 8.1.14, and 9.0 before 9.0.7.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
