Root command execution via management-server injection
Published May 13, 2020 · Updated Sep 17, 2024
OS command injection in the PAN-OS management server allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges. Palo Alto Networks has not disclosed the affected request, parameter, or command-construction path beyond identifying the management server. Administrative access to the management interface is required, and successful exploitation grants root-level command execution on the firewall.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
- Affected versionversion=7.1.*
