Script execution via unchecked JavaScript link URL
Published Sep 23, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site scripting in YzmCMS 5.3 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script when an administrator clicks a crafted link. The link creation endpoint accepts a javascript: URI in the url parameter and renders it as a clickable destination without rejecting the executable scheme. Exploitation requires administrative access to create the link and user interaction to click it, after which the script runs in the site's origin.
