Unauthenticated code execution via unfiltered path traversal
Published Jun 27, 2023 · Updated Dec 4, 2024
Path traversal in Cryptoprof WCMS 0.3.2 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary PHP code through the wex/cssjs.php endpoint. The endpoint accepts a path parameter containing ../ sequences, reads the referenced file, and permits saving modified PHP content without filtering the traversal. No authentication is required, so network access to the endpoint is sufficient to read configuration data and overwrite PHP files for code execution.
