Token theft via unchecked BurnMe transfer target

Published Sep 7, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024

Improper target validation in Rob The Bank 1.0 allows remote attackers to steal tokens from victim contracts through BurnMe(). BurnMe() accepts an unchecked transfer target from the calling context and directs the invoking contract's balance to that address. Exploitation requires a victim contract to invoke BurnMe(), after which the crafted calling contract receives the victim's cryptocurrency balance.
