Cross-site scripting via permitted external scripts
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Cross-site scripting in Pandao Editor.md 1.5.0 allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript through crafted editor content. The editor's HTML rendering permits a script src attribute, loads an attacker-chosen external library, and evaluates its malicious JavaScript. A browser user must render the crafted content; the code then runs in the application's origin and can redirect the page or access and alter origin-scoped data.
