Code execution via altered media database extension
Published Mar 30, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Code execution in INSMA Wifi Mini Spy 1080P HD Security IP Camera 1.9.7 B allows local users to run code via an altered media database. Changing recdata.db media-extension bytes from .avi to .asp makes the GoAhead server expose and execute a crafted ASP shell stored on the SD card. Exploitation requires physical access and high privileges to modify the database; requesting the resulting SD path executes attacker-controlled code.
