Authenticated arbitrary file read via theme editor traversal
Published Aug 25, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Path traversal in PopojiCMS 2.0.1 allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary server files through the theme editor. The theme-edit action in po-admin/admin.php accepts repeated ../ segments in the id parameter without confining the resolved path to the theme directory. Backend access is required; the published example targets a MySQL configuration file, limiting the established impact to disclosure of files readable by the web process.
