Unauthenticated code execution via unchecked avatar suffix
Published Aug 3, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in vaeThink 1.0.1 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through the administrator avatar uploader. The upload handler accepts an avatar named t.php without checking its file suffix, stores the PHP file, and leaves the resulting webshell reachable. No authentication or user interaction is required, and a successful upload executes commands with the web server's privileges.
