Stored script execution via unneutralized editor source
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in the /question/detail component of Jeesns 1.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute script in a viewer's browser. The answer editor accepts a crafted script payload in its source field, stores it with the answer, and emits it without effective neutralization when the question is viewed. An account is required to submit an answer, and exploitation requires another user to view the affected question, exposing that user's browser session to attacker-controlled script.
