Stored script execution via unneutralized group comments
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored XSS in Jeesns 1.4.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary script in visitors' browsers through group comments. The /group/comment handler stores the comments text without neutralizing script markup, and the post view later renders it as executable HTML. A registered account can submit the payload, and execution requires another user to view the affected post, enabling actions within that viewer's Jeesns session.
