Administrator escalation via unvalidated cross-site requests
Published Sep 9, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in Jeesns 1.4.2 allows remote attackers to add administrators or delete posts through a victim's session. The global filter omits token and Referer validation, so the management endpoints accept forged deletion GET requests and administrator-addition POST requests. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to view attacker-controlled content, after which the forged action executes with that administrator's privileges.
