Administrator account creation via forged user-save request
Published Apr 4, 2023 · Updated Feb 14, 2025
Cross-site request forgery in Phachon mm-wiki 0.1.2 allows remote attackers to create an administrator through a victim's session. The /system/user/save handler accepts an account-creation POST carrying role_id=1 when submitted by JavaScript running in the wiki. Exploitation requires an authenticated administrator to view an attacker-controlled document, after which the request runs with that administrator's session and adds a privileged account.
