Administrator-browser script execution via unescaped connection title
Published Sep 15, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Stored cross-site scripting in Ari Adminer 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute script in an administrator's browser through a connection title. The process_request() method in includes/controllers/connections/class-ajax-save.php stores the connection input without sanitization, and administrative pages render its title without escaping. Exploitation requires inducing a logged-in administrator to submit the cross-site request and then load the plugin's main administration page.
