Unauthenticated SQL execution via interpolated ISBN
Published May 5, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
SQL injection in Projectworlds Online Book Store 1.0 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL through edit_book.php. The handler trims the posted isbn value but interpolates it directly into the UPDATE query's WHERE clause before calling mysqli_query. The endpoint requires no login; the demonstrated updatexml payload extracts the database version through an error response, and the source record reports arbitrary-code execution.
