Code execution via forged administrative POST request
Published Aug 31, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Cross-site request forgery in iWebShop 5.3 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code through a malicious administrative POST request. The /index.php?controller=system&action=admin_edit_act endpoint accepts the state-changing request without verifying an anti-CSRF token or intended origin. A logged-in administrator must be induced to submit the request, after which attacker-supplied code runs with the application's privileges.
