Authenticated code execution via space-suffixed upload
Published Aug 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Unrestricted file upload in PHPMyWind 5.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP code through the admin uploader. The upload logic fails to normalize a trailing space in an allowed extension, while Windows removes that space and stores the file as executable PHP. Administrator access is required to add the space-suffixed PHP type and upload the crafted file; requesting its URL then executes the payload on the server.
