Authenticated code execution via generated watermark file
Published Aug 20, 2021 · Updated Aug 4, 2024
Command injection in PHPMyWind 5.6 allows remote authenticated users to execute arbitrary PHP through the watermark text-color field. The admin/web_config.php handler writes the field into data/watermark.inc.php without neutralizing PHP syntax, and require_once later interprets the generated file. Administrative access to the settings page is required, after which injected PHP runs with the web application's privileges.
